These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Docureka, operated by Gooseberry Hub("we", "us"). By using Docureka you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Docureka is a document generation tool that produces draft PDF documents — rent receipts, rent agreements, NOCs, and similar — based on information you provide. Documents are generated instantly from templates; we do not provide legal advice or legal representation.
2. Not legal advice
Documents are templates, not legal instruments. A PDF generated by Docureka is a draft starting point. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer.
India — rent agreements require execution on stamp paper. In India, a Leave & License agreement is enforceable only when executed on stamp paper of the appropriate value and, in certain states, registered with the Sub-Registrar. A Docureka-generated PDF is not executed on stamp paper and has no standalone legal force until you complete that process.
International users. Document requirements vary by country and jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring any document you generate complies with the laws applicable to you.
We are not liable for any legal, financial, or other consequences arising from your use of a document generated by Docureka.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
- You must provide accurate information when using the service.
- One person per account — accounts may not be shared.
4. Free and paid tiers
Free tier — up to 2 documents per calendar month. Free-tier PDFs carry a "DRAFT — Docureka" watermark.
Pro tier — unlimited documents, watermark-free PDFs. Billed as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Prices shown are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are exclusive of GST unless explicitly stated otherwise. Applicable taxes will be added at checkout for Indian users.
We reserve the right to change tier limits and pricing with reasonable notice. Your subscription continues at the price locked at the time of purchase until renewal.
5. Payments, auto-renewal, and refunds
Payments are processed by Razorpay. By subscribing you agree to Razorpay's terms. We do not store your card or bank details.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your Account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
Refunds — general. Subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days at hello@docureka.in.
6. Your content and intellectual property
Your content. You own the information you enter and the filled-in documents you generate. By using the service you grant us a limited licence to process that information solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your document content for any other purpose.
Our intellectual property. The Docureka platform, document templates, software, and branding are owned by or licensed to Gooseberry Hub. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our templates beyond what is necessary to use the generated PDF for its intended personal or business purpose.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Docureka to:
- Generate documents containing false information intended to deceive.
- Commit fraud, forgery, or any illegal act.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our systems.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular legal purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gooseberry Hub's total liability for any claim arising from your use of Docureka is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or ₹500 (or equivalent in your local currency), whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost rent, legal penalties, or document rejection by authorities.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Docureka available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including infrastructure outages, natural events, or third-party service failures.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via email or a notice on the site at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. General
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Gooseberry Hub regarding Docureka and supersede any prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
